Denktas: They Sacrificed Us For EU

As Denktas accused the Turkish government of selling Cyprus out for EU membership, Prime Minister Talat said "The policy of Denktas aims at isolating Turkey like TRNC. Therefore his policy is neither contemporary nor serves Turkey. Let us not forget about Lozidiou case; Turkey will have to pay big amounts of compensations. How can he make this to Turkey? His accusations on Turkey will trigger unrest in Turkey and will upset the political balances. In fact, the aim of Denktas is to stir Turkey and upset its political balance."  Talat and his deputy Serdar Denktas joined an economic meeting about Cyprus to explore means of investments to the island, by the Union of Chambers and Bourses, in Turkey. In his statement, Denktas reacted at FM Gul who said that "What sovereignty he talks about? They are unable to sell a box of oranges abroad!" Denktas said "We can not accept them to tell us that we are not sovereign, just because they are in power! Why did you recognize us then? Why did you sent your ambassador here? Do not hurt us. You have prepared to war over the Kardar islets (with Greece) and you should not have done this to us!"Government Spokesman Cemil Cicek also reacted at Denktas, saying that "These words cause damage. We expect a Yes vote in the referendum."Â
