Alvaro De Soto, the U.N Cyprus Envoy, who is attending talks in Lefkosa for two weeks, is coming to Ankara, today. The traffic of high ranking visits to Ankara, is very intensive recently.

After Turkish Cypriot PM Mehmet Ali Talat and Foreign Minister Serdar Denktas, U.S Cyprus Envoy Thomas Weston, Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas, Alvaro de Soto is coming to Ankara to meet Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal and the officials from the Cyprus Department of Turkey. De Soto, might also meet Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul.

Namık Tan, the Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, evaluated the De Soto's visit, saying  that, "Visits of all sides is normal amid important negotiations. De Soto will be here for a political consultation and some preparations about the Cyprus issue."

Turkey had previously asked from UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to replace De Soto. Ankara is expected to propose to De Soto that politicians from both Turkey and Greece attend the Cyprus talks.
