Sahinturk served in Florida-Tampa as the Turkish liaison officer during the war in Afghanistan. Lieutenant General Emin Alpman, the commander of the 28th Mechanized Infantry Brigade is expected to serve under Sahinturk.
The 28th Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Mamak, Ankara, is called the “Peace Brigade” of Turkey. A battalion of this brigade joins to NATO forces in case of a ground operation and serves to protect peace when the war ends. The “Peace Brigade” served in Afghanistan.
