What some of the participants had to say about the Armenian conference at Bilgi University:  Hrant Dink (journalist, Agos newspaper): The Turks and the Armenians are experiencing two different illnesses here. The Armenians are traumatized, and the Turks are paranoid. The solution to this would be to have these two peoples come together. This conference will affect the Armenian diaspora. Turkey's recovery on this subject means the recovery of the Armenian people. Etienne Mahchupian (Zaman newspaper): Turks need to face eachother on the subject of the Armenian matter. As Armenians, we need to help the Turks with this issue.  Ali Bayramoglu (Yeni Safak newspaper): There has always been a foundation of anti-semitism especially among the Islamic factions in Turkey, but never anything like that against the Armenians.  Professor Ahmet Insel (Galatasaray University): There has never been approach to Armenians in this country comparable to the way the Nazis approached the Jewish people in Germany. There have been incidents of racism of course, but never any mass movement approach.Â
