A cadre of government officials from Ankara yesterday visited the southeastern village of Besagac outside of Sirnak to wish condolences to relatives of the 12 people killed in a PKK ambush on a minibus this past weekend.

Interior Minister Besir Atalay, Agricultural Minister Mehdi Eker, and State Minster Mehmet Simsek were accompanied on the trip to Besagac by various MPs as well as the Chief of Turkish Police, Oguz Kagan Koksal.
Speaking in Besagac after meeting with distraught villagers, Interior Minister Atalay said "The state will do what is necessary here. All of Turkey stands beside you. The struggle against PKK terror will continue with decisiveness. This village will receive everything it needs. We will take care of the children who have been left fatherless. And this will all happen very quickly."
