Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul made a one day trip yesterday to Lebanon, discussing allegations made by the London-based Arab newspaper, El Shark El Evsat Alshark, that the Turkish intelligence agency, MIT, had tipped off the Israeli intelligence agency, MOSSAD, that Hizbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was hiding in the Iranian Embassy in Beirut.

In meetings with Saad Hariri, the son of slain Lebanese leader Refik Hariri, FM Gul reiterated that the claims of Turkish tips to the Israelis regarding the whereabouts of Nasrallah were completely false.
Speaking at Ankara's Esenboga Airport prior to his departure for Beirut, FM Gul underlined to reporters that the claims made by the El Evsat newspaper were patently untrue, noting that it was impossible for Ankara to respond individually to the claims made by newspapers all over the world.
