Prof. Hacımustafaoğlu stated that the hospital had asked for help from the department following the deaths.
Said Prof. Hacımustafaoğlu, "It was said that some of the deaths occurred as a result of 'Klebsiella', known as the hospital infection. Other than this, more than one type of virus was found in some of the patients' blood. We carried out some tests in the department, and the admission of any new patients into the ward where the infection was found has been stopped, as a precautionary measure. We could say that a sort of quarantine is underway in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We need 3 to 4 weeks in order for this to be successful. No new patients will be admitted into the ward."
