Speaking at a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development (AKP) Party leaders in Istanbul yesterday, Erdogan touched on Turkish foreign policy, explaining in broad terms that, contrary to opposition-led accusations, the Foreign Ministry in Ankara was involved in every step taken on the Hamas and other fronts. Erdogan also recounted his talks with Israeli and Palestinian officials before and after the visit by Meshaad to Ankara, and, stressing that he had been reassured by both sets of leaders that they were pleased with his initiatives, called out to the opposition CHP Party to stop creating controversy. "I am calling out to the leaders of the CHP; we are not running a clan-led government. We are guiding the Republic of Turkey. Let the CHP understand this. We know quite well how they ran this country when they were in control."
