Erdogan noted, ''thus, Ethiopia will become Turkey's administrative support center in African continent.''
''This initiative is the sign of Turkey's humanitarian interest in Africa as well as the support towards development efforts in this continent. TICA undertakes the planning and implementation of Turkey's international assistance. Addis Ababa Program Coordination Office will try to provide every type of contribution to the development of
Ethiopia with TICA's experiences and information,'' added Erdogan.
Erdogan said, ''granting of 20 computers by TICA to Ethiopia to support its education efforts is the first step of this process. Also, as a first stage, several projects will be implemented to meet basic needs of Ethiopia regarding potable water and health. Within that scope, a project worth of 200 million U.S. dollars for 20 potable water wells will be implemented.''
Earlier in the day, Erdogan attended a luncheon which was hosted in Addis Ababa by Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi in his honor.
