After numerous statements from northern Iraqi leaders in response to the Turkish threat of a military operation, Prime Minister Erdoğan once again called on Erbil to address the problem of cross-border terrorism.

“We cannot tolerate time-wasting. Close down all training-training camps, root out terrorism and hand over all rebel leaders,” he said.

Turkey will be satisfied if the northern Iraqi administration follows these three steps to eliminate PKK terror, Erdoğan said. Attacks on Turkish soil have increased in recent months.

“We made it quite clear that we were not going to be distracted. I personally informed Prime Minister Maliki. You can see the reaction of surrounding countries and the rest of the world. Turkey {has} legal rights as it is a breach of international law to harbour terrorist groups,” Erdoğan said, leaving Friday prayer at a mosque near his home in Üskudar yesterday.
