The timing of the submission makes the decision process likely to be finalized by late July or early August.

Turkey has been locked in political turmoil as everybody waits for the court's ruling on the closure case, according to which AKP has been accused of being "the focal point of anti-secular activities".

Turkey's chief prosecutor had demanded the court ban 71 officials, including more than 30 MPs, of the party as well as the party’s closure.

The awaited decision is also crucial for Turkey's economy as it places another risk factor on the country amid the worsening global economy. Foreign investors wait out the Constitutional Court's ruling and are concerned about prolonged political uncertainty.
