Turkish firm to launch smart card
ISTANBUL - A Turkish company is seeking to steer Kenya towards a cashless society with a smart card project, reported Business Daily Africa on its Website.

Bekir Yılmaz, which operates Kenya-based Yılmaz Company Ltd, or YCL, said the company would invest $1.5 million in a joint venture to replicate the smart card payment system that is successful in Turkey. YCL is working with Çalık Holdings, through its subsidiary E-Kent, to initially roll out the payment system in the large transport sector.
