ISTANBUL - Chevron, the second-largest U.S. oil company, is close to an agreement with Turkey’s state oil company Türkiye Petrolleri AO, or TPAO, for oil exploration in the Black Sea, daily Hürriyet reported yesterday.
Chevron executives had a very positive meeting in January with Turkish officials and discussed details of a possible agreement, including sharing investment and profit. TPAO in November signed a joint operation deal with ExxonMobil for exploration in the Black Sea.
