The Turkish economy is projected to shrink by 1.5 percent in 2009 and to grow 3.5 percent in 2010, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Thursday.

A note prepared for a meeting of G-20 deputies in the British capital of London that took place Jan. 31-Feb. 1, the IMF portrayed a grim outlook for the global economy.   Â

The IMF said in the note that the inflation figure in Turkey would decrease to 7.9 percent in 2009 and 6.9 percent in 2010.
