ISTANBUL - A Turkish soldier died and two others were injured late on Friday during an operation to rescue two civilians kidnapped by the terror organization PKK, the state-run media reported Saturday.

Security forces launched an operation in the mountainous area in the central Anatolia after PKK terrorists kidnapped two civilians three days ago.

Clashes erupted during the operation in the province of Tunceli and a soldier died after being shot, the report said.
