Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan will represent Turkey at a summit where the world's twenty most developed countries will seek a solution for the growing global economic crisis. Twenty countries with the biggest economies, responsible for 85 percent of global production, will gather in Washington D.C. tomorrow to seek a way out of the crisis. Turkey is the 16th biggest economy among the G-20 countries. The G-20 includes the world's leading countries such as the U.S., Japan, Germany, China, Britain, France, Russia, Italy and Canada.

Ahmet Erturk, the head of Turkey's Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), addressed the Turkish real sector. "We need to be open and clear. We do not need to use a political language. We should be demanding. We should be clear so that the decision makers can feel the urgency," Erturk said.

Birgol's daughter expressed her gratitude with parliament's decision to hold such a service. "We are sorrowful but also proud at the same time," she said.

The international animal right group, PETA, staged a demonstration in front of the European Parliament in Brussels, to protest killing of stray dogs in Turkey. Demonstrators carried photographs of slain animals and chanted slogans "respect, don't neglect".
