Ceremonies and burials for 13 Turkish soldiers killed in PKK terror ambush

Reverberations are continuing and the funerals have begun for 13 Turkish soldiers killed in a PKK terror ambush outside of the southeastern city of Sirnak on Sunday.

Ceremonies commemorating the 13 took place yesterday at the Sirnak 23rd Gendarme Border Command before the bodies of the young men killed in the attack were sent to their individual home towns and cities for burials. In the meantime, the military's General Staff headquarters have declared the region around the cities of Sirnak, Hakkari, and Siirt a "security area," and a wide spread military operation against remaining PKK terror forces hiding in the region is underway.
