Turkish forces target PKK sites in northern Iraq from outside of Hakkari
Heavy artillery sounds were reported heard outside the southeastern Turkish city of Hakkari last night near midnight, with Turkish Armed Forces General Staff members confirming that PKK enforcements in northern Iraq were being targeted by the Turkish military.
The Turkish military has been building up its troop numbers and weapons stock along the border with northern Iraq for the past months now. Last night, the Turkish military's General Staff also issued an official statement on its web site in connection with recently increased activity along the Turkish-Iraqi border.
