Istanbul will be hosting the World Economic Forum on November 23-24 at the luxurious Ciragan Palace Hotel on the Bosphorus, giving top business figures a chance once again to discuss global problems, this time in Turkey.

Participation in the conference however is not going to be as easy as just being in Istanbul: non-members of the World Economic Forum (WEF) will be required to pay a fee of 3,500 Euro for attendance, this in addition to a special invitation from the WEF. Currently, only 143 Turkish citizens have been signed up for the WEF conference. Among topics for discussion will be the recently issued EU progress report on Turkey's quest for full EU membership.
