A Turkish businessman has been made the new chairman of the World Chambers Federation (WFC). Rona Yircali, who was elected to the seat, will head up the WFC, which is organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) WCF every tow years. "Rona Yircali was elected as the President of WCF. WCF has 12,000 member from 140 countries," Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu told the press on Thursday.

''Congress of WCF will be organized in Turkey in 2007 under the chairmanship of Yircali. This is a sign of Turkish business community's extended influence. It will also contribute to Turkey's trademark value'' added Hisarciklioglu.

''I will start my mission as of January 1st, 2006. The 5th WCF Congress will be held in Istanbul from July 4th to 6th, 2007, during my term in office as the chairman,'' Yircali who has been acting as president of Balikesir Chamber of Industry Executive Board, said.

The congress is the only international forum for chamber executives worldwide to share best-practice experience, develop networks and learn about new areas of innovation from other chambers. WCF is the ICC's specialized division for its chamber of commerce members worldwide.
