Eight suspected drug traffickers were convicted and handed out prison sentences from an Ankara court on Monday, according to the Anatolian news agency. Three other suspects were exonerated and released. The suspects were recently detained following operations that were carried out around the Mamak and Altındağ of the city. Police seized a large amount of cannabis and cocaine as well as guns and ammunition. Among the detainees was Cengiz I, a member of the PKK terrorist group.
