    Consumer confidence in Turkey rises 1.09 pct in Sept

    Consumer confidence in Turkey increased 1.09 percent in September, according to the latest figures in the monthly Consumer Tendency Survey released on Thursday.

    The Consumer Confidence Index, which was 79.85 percent in August 2008, rose 1.09 percent to 80.72 percent in September 2008, according to the survey carried out with the cooperation of the Turkish Statistical Institute and the central bank.

    When the index is above 100 it indicates an optimistic outlook, while an even 100 rating  refers to neither an optimistic nor pessimistic outlook, and ratings below 100 indicate a pessimistic outlook.
