The head of the Turkish Bakers' Federation (TFF), Halil Ibrahim Balci, has said that a rise in bread prices will not be less than 25% in the next month if steps are not taken to lower the flour prices and keep unlicensed bakeries from producing bread.

The heads of bakers' associations from 81 different cities across Turkey met yesterday in Ankara to talk about the rise in flour prices and discuss changes in the sector. Balci noted that despite drastic changes to flour prices in Turkey, prices per kilo of bread in the country had not followed suit in the past 3 years.
