Ergun Poyraz, a best-selling author accused of links to ultranationalist groups, was placed in detention in Ankara and transferred to Istanbul in connection with an investigation into a bomb plot there.

There was a short squabble between the two gendarmes on 24-hour duty at Poyraz’ Çayyolu, Ankara home and the police officers who had come to arrest him. Following a public prosecutor’s order, the gendarmes allowed the detention. While CDs and documents were seized in Poyraz’s home, Poyraz was handed over to the Terror Prevention Unit in Istanbul.

Poyraz is the author of “The Children of Moses: Tayyip and Emine” and “Blown Light Bulb.”
