The Sunday Times: Israel planning to fly over Turkey to attack Iran
According to an article in the British The Sunday Times newspaper, Israel is planning to use certain nuclear tactical weapons against bases in Iran. The same article noted that one of the possible points for attack against Iran by Israel might be to fly over Turkey. Basing its report on military sources from Israel, the Sunday Times article also quoted one source as saying "When the green light is given, it will be a single mission and a single attack, and Iran's nuclear project will be wiped out."
Israeli government denies claims made in article
While Israeli Government Spokesperson Miri Eisin said only "We are not commenting on the news from The Sunday Times," Israeli Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mark Regev said the news was absolutely untrue, noting "Israel is one hundred percent behind the international efforts to dissuade Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Israel supports the United Nations Security Council's decision 1737, and believes the international community must be prepared to take stiffer measures against Iran."
