The Al-Qaeda associated Army of Ansar al-Sunna has issued a statement claiming that it killed two Turkish truck drivers who were carrying supplies to U.S. forces stationed in Iraq. The statement, whose authenticity is not confirmed, appeared on an Islamist website Wednesday. The two drivers were named as Turan Unal and Huseyin Aytag. Apparently the trucks were seized in the northern part of Iraq on the Kirkuk-Tikrit road. In the statement the group claim to have burned the trucks that were carrying cement from Turkey to Tikrit and then both drivers were killed, according to "the rule of God". The Tikrit road is notoriously dangerous for truck drivers, many have been killed in attacks on moving convoys. Up to 80 Turkish truck drivers have been killed in the last few months.
