CEYLAN, Turkey - The 1,100 mile pipeline which is anticipated to carry Caspian crude oil from Azerbaijan through Georgia and Turkey is in it's final stages. The project, which cost $2.9 billion, is almost finished and is deemed to bring relief to the West's dependance on Middle Eastern crude oil.

The pipeline, which will carry oil from the Azeri fields, joins Turkey at Baku. Although it is seen as a relief from dependence on Middle Eastern oil, it will only offer short relief as the world continues to guzzle down more an more crude oil every year.
